  • Backwater curve approximation

    This interactive tool estimates the backwater curve in a chanel with an imposed level downstream. Two sliders modify the roughness (expressed as a Strickler coefficient = 1/Manning coefficient) and delta_h, computation step. french legend

  • Bag of floods

    Demo app to draw marbles from a bag as an analogy to discovering this year's flood return period. Series of draws allow to comment on the probability to be flooded in a given period of N years, and comment on flood variability.

  • Probability of having k floods in N years

    Demo ; simple interactive tool to show the probability of occurence of k floods with a return period superior to T in N years. It also displays the addition from 0 to k, i.e. the probability of k such floods at most.

  • Sample2gumbel

    DEMO : Interactive tool for teaching. It generates maximum annual discharges from a Gumbel distribution to demonstrate the variability of floods, and fits an estimated Gumbel distribution. The sample can be increased at will.
